Local voices, north and south.
EdgeAudit is built and run in Derry, and it already answers calls on both sides of the border. Every line is set up by Stephen McLaughlin, who spent over ten years in telecoms before he started it. You ring, he picks up.
Your callers hear a natural local voice, from the north or the south, answering in your business name and set up for the places you cover. Meet Stephen, or pick a voice in the live demo.
Call answering for businesses across Ireland, north and south
Your Irish number stays exactly as it is
Whatever your number starts with, 01 in Dublin, 021 in Cork, 091 in Galway, 074 in Donegal or 08 on a mobile, it stays exactly as it is, with your current provider. Calls reach your receptionist through ordinary call forwarding, so nothing on your van, your website or your cards changes. You choose when it answers: only the calls you can’t get to, evenings and weekends, or all of them. We set up the forwarding with you, then ring your number and check a real call comes through before you go live.
A local voice, set up for your patch
Your callers hear a natural voice from this island, matched to your business: a soft North-West voice, or a southern one if your customers are in Dublin, Cork or Galway. It answers in your business name, takes the caller’s name, number and what they need, and reads the number back to be sure it has it right. Before you go live we set it up with the places your customers ring from, so towns like Clonmel and Clondalkin are on its list from the first call, and we listen to the first 30 to 50 real calls, daily, once you’re live. Hear the voices in the live demo, from Derry to Dublin and Galway.
Priced in euro, and the price stays put
In the Republic, Front Desk is €299 a month and Front Desk Plus is €549. You’re billed in euro, so the exchange rate never changes your bill, and your price is locked for your first 12 months. Set-up is included, there are no per-call charges and never a surprise bill, and it’s 30-day rolling. See both plans in euro.
Live in a day, and we do the setting up
In a Small Firms Association survey reported in the Irish Times on 10 August 2026, 31% of the small firms not using AI blamed a lack of technical expertise and 28% a lack of time. EdgeAudit needs neither from you. After a free 15-minute chat we build it from what you already have, your prices, your questions and the way you work, and you approve every line before it goes live. Live in a day.
Already answering south of the border
We already answer calls in the Republic as well as right across Northern Ireland. More on call answering in Dublin.
What happens to a call
Somebody rings while you’re up a ladder in Bray or with a client in Letterkenny. Your receptionist picks up in well under a second, in your business name, and answers what you’ve told it to answer. It takes the name, number and what they need, and puts the call through to you in the hours you set. Everything else reaches you by text, WhatsApp or email the moment the call ends, and every call is in your own portal to read back.
Who it’s built for
The Republic of Ireland has 410,205 active enterprises, and 92% of them employ fewer than ten people (CSO, Business in Ireland 2024, published 6 October 2026). In a firm that size, the calls come in while you’re doing the job. That’s who this is for: the electrician on site, the heating engineer under a boiler, the garage busy with pre-NCT checks, the auctioneer at a viewing, the dental practice with a full waiting room. There are pages for tradesmen, plumbers and heating engineers, electricians, garages, estate and letting agents and dental practices.

AI receptionist in Ireland: common questions
Something else on your mind? Ask on the free chat, or ring Stephen on +44 7926 144173.
Do you work with businesses in the Republic of Ireland?
Yes. EdgeAudit is built and run in Derry, and it already answers calls on both sides of the border. It runs over the phone line you already have, so it works for a business anywhere on the island, from Malin Head to Mizen Head. Plans in the Republic are billed in euro, and we’re happy to meet you in person anywhere on the island.
How much does an AI receptionist cost in Ireland?
With EdgeAudit, Front Desk is €299 a month and Front Desk Plus is €549, billed in euro. Set-up is included, there are no per-call charges and never a surprise bill, and it’s 30-day rolling. In Northern Ireland the same two plans are £249 and £449. You can try it free for two weeks on your own number, with no card.
Can I keep my Irish number?
Yes. Your 01, 021, 091, 074 or mobile number stays exactly as it is, with your current provider. Calls reach your receptionist through call forwarding: all of them, after hours, or only the ones you can’t get to. We set it up with you and test a real call before you go live.
How do I ring your demo line from the Republic?
Dial 048 7122 3879. That’s our Derry line: from Northern Ireland it’s 028 7122 3879, and from anywhere else +44 28 7122 3879. On an Irish phone, 028 is the code for Skibbereen, not Derry. Ask Laura anything about your business.
Will it sound local to my callers?
Yes. You pick a natural voice from the north or the south to suit your customers, and it answers in your business name. We set it up with the places your customers ring from before you go live. Hear the voices in the live demo, from Derry to Dublin and Galway.
Is an AI receptionist worth it for a small business?
Yes. A caller who can’t get you rings the next name on the list, and the job goes with them. EdgeAudit is rated 5.0 on Google, with five stars in every review, and you can try it free for two weeks on your own number before you pay anything. The missed-call calculator puts a figure on what you’re losing.
How quickly can I go live?
In a day. We build it from what you already have, your prices, your questions and the way you work, set up the forwarding with you and test it. You approve every line before your receptionist answers a real customer.
Is it a phone answering service, a virtual receptionist or an AI receptionist?
All three, in one. A phone answering service picks up when you can’t. A virtual receptionist is any receptionist who works remotely, a person or software. EdgeAudit’s is an AI receptionist: it answers in your business name at any hour, takes several calls at once, takes the details and sends them to you, and puts calls through to you in the hours you set.
Can it answer WhatsApp messages too?
Yes, on Front Desk Plus. Someone who rings while you’re busy can get a WhatsApp link by text, and the same receptionist carries the conversation on there, so nobody explains themselves twice. It runs on a separate business line, so your own WhatsApp is untouched.
What about GDPR and call recordings?
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Call recording is optional and off by default; when it’s switched on, the receptionist announces it at the start. Some underlying AI providers may process data in the US under standard GDPR safeguards, and for solicitors and healthcare clients we can tighten where data is held and which providers see it. That is set up per client and written into your data processing agreement. We’re registered with the ICO (ref ZC176838).
Where are you based, and can we meet?
Derry, a short drive from the Donegal border. Everything works over your phone line, so a business in Cork gets exactly the same service as one in Derry. We’re happy to meet you in person anywhere on the island; the rest is phone and video.
Will my callers know they’re talking to an AI?
Yes, on lines in the Republic. Your receptionist says it’s an AI receptionist when it picks up, and it gives a straight answer if anyone asks. Ring the demo line and ask it yourself.
