EdgeAudit
For NI garages & car sales

Answering for garages & car sales, while you're under a car.

Under a car, on a ramp, or out on the forecourt with a buyer: that's exactly when the phone goes, and the caller who wanted a service booked in doesn't wait, they try the next garage. EdgeAudit sits behind the number you already answer on, picks up when nobody can get off the job, and has the caller's name, their number and what they need waiting on your phone by the time you're free.

Built for the workshop, not the office

Nobody's at the desk when every ramp is busy.

When every ramp's busy, nobody's standing at the desk, so a call for a service, a tyre price or a car on the forecourt goes unanswered, and down the road there's another garage waiting to take it instead. EdgeAudit takes that call in your business name, gets what the caller actually needs, and texts it over. The booking diary you already keep carries on exactly as it is: this only picks up what nobody had a free hand for.

Both hands on a job, and the phone still going

A garage phone rings all day with jobs that are nothing like each other. A service booked in for next week, a knocking noise that started this morning, a price for two tyres, somebody asking whether their car is ready yet, and somebody on the sales side asking whether the blue one on the front row is still there. They all come in on the same number, and they all come in while somebody is under a car with their hands full.

The MOT side of it is its own thing here. In Northern Ireland the test itself is done at a government test centre, not in your workshop, so what lands with you is everything either side of it: the pre-MOT check, the will-it-pass question, the repairs, and for some garages booking the slot and running the car up as well. When a car fails, the owner often rings from the test centre car park, and they are not in a patient mood.

The sales side runs on a different clock again. Buyers look at cars when they are off work, so the enquiries land in the evening and at the weekend with the office shut, and by the time somebody lifts the phone about a car they have usually made their mind up about which one. If that call rings out they ring the next dealer with something similar, and it is gone without you ever knowing it happened.

EdgeAudit answers behind the number you already have, on call forwarding, so nobody dials anything new. When you can't get to the phone it answers in your business name, takes the caller's name, their number, the car or the registration they are ringing about and what they actually need, then texts that to you as soon as the call ends. It won't diagnose a fault down the phone, put a price on a repair, or hold a car for anybody. If your office is staffed all day and no call ever rings out, you don't need this.

How it works

Live in about five days, behind your own number.

Step 1

Steps in for you

Under a car, on the ramp or held up by a buyer on the forecourt, in a natural local voice.

Step 2

Gets what they're after

A service, an MOT check, a tyre price, a failed test or a car on the forecourt, with the registration and a number to ring back on.

Step 3

Sends it to your phone

The moment the call ends, so you can ring back before they try the next garage.

Honest answers

Common questions

A customer's car has just failed at the test centre and they ring from the car park. What happens?+

A caller who's just failed isn't in a calm mood, so it stays calm for both of you. It answers on your own number, in your business name, takes their name, mobile number and registration, and tells them you'll ring straight back. The moment the call ends that's a text on your phone, two lines you can weigh against your week rather than a missed number you have to chase cold. What it can't do is offer them a slot, because it isn't looking at your diary.

Will it tell somebody what's wrong with their car, or put a price on a job?+

It won't. A noise or a fault needs eyes and hands on the car, not a phone call, so it doesn't diagnose one and it won't say whether something's going to pass. Prices are the same: no figure for a clutch, a timing belt or a set of tyres unless you've given it fixed prices to read out. It gets the details to you instead. Ask it outright whether you're talking to a person and it says no, it's an AI assistant.

We sell cars as well as fix them. Is it any use on the forecourt side?+

It is, and often the forecourt call is the one worth most, because a buyer who's set on one particular car will ring the next dealer the moment yours doesn't pick up in the evening. It gets their name, their number and which car they mean, and has it with you in time to ring back that night. It won't hold the car for them or put a figure on a part exchange. Add up the forecourt calls and the workshop calls you lose in a normal week and weigh that against £249 a month, with no per-minute or per-call charge.

The ramp doesn't have to stop for the phone.
