Limavady is a market town of roughly eleven thousand people in the Roe Valley, inside Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. Aghanloo Industrial Estate sits two miles north of the town, and the sparks, joiners and plumbers working out of the area cover a circuit through Ballykelly, Greysteel, Drumsurn, Feeny and on down to Dungiven. Roe Valley Enterprises, the local enterprise agency, has its units out at Aghanloo as well. The flat arable ground at Myroe, reclaimed from Lough Foyle, and out along Magilligan carries wheat, barley, oilseed rape and carrots, so if you contract or fix machinery, your heaviest run of calls lands at drilling and at lifting, which is exactly when you are furthest from a phone. If your shop, salon or clinic is on Market Street, Catherine Street or Ballyclose Street, it rings while you already have someone in front of you. Magilligan Prison is out that way too, a long standing employer in the area.

Then there is the calendar. Benone Strand has RNLI lifeguards through July and August, and the Lough Foyle Ferry crosses from Magilligan Point to Greencastle in Donegal over the summer. If you do accommodation, food, plant hire or grounds work anywhere under Binevenagh, your July looks nothing like your February. Add the commuter run west to Derry and the dualled A6 that now bypasses Dungiven, and you can be behind a wheel for a fair slice of the day while the phone lights up beside you.
